#1 Install the DoFollow plug-in

Excellent plugin to help the google bots crawl from website to website. Anyone that leaves a link in your comment section. This will allow the googlebots to go from your website to theirs and help with ranking especially if this is coming from a website that has a higher traffic and page ranking than you.

#2 Install the CommentLuv plug-in

This comment will leave a link back to your latest post at the bottom of your comment that you make on a blog that has “commentluv” installed on. This plugin is awesome for generating new traffic and visitors to your site. They see your blog post title and think “I will check that blog out” I have done that many a times and met some awesome people on the way!

#3 Install the KeywordLuv plug-in

This plugin allows your commentator to use an anchor keyword after their name when they fill in the name section on the comment form and the website will link to the keyword phrase rather than your name. This is great if you are targeting keywords for your website.

Start Adding Value To Other People’s blog’s

When you find a blog that has these plug-in’s the chances are the blog owner is actively looking to increase traffic, and if you make regular comments and get noticed you will build a relationship. This will become 2 way as a well thought out comment on a high traffic blog will send traffic to your own blog.

When you start making regular comments you will become known to the blog owner and if they have a list then your request for a JV mailing or help in your business will have a much greater chance of success.

If you struggle with listbuilding and getting people to enter their name and e-mail address in your opt-in form then prepare yourself to be amazed as I share three little tips that will skyrocket your conversions.

First up we need a strong lead magnet, we’ll use a little cheat and use PLR (private label rights) here. The second thing is a strong squeezepage where the only option to the visitor is to opt-in or shut the browser. Thirdly send traffic via article marketing.

By following this blueprint you will have a high converting squeezepage and lots of targeted traffic, what more could you ask for?

The Lead Magnet

You want to give away something that has a high value, and is different to what all the other marketers in your niche are offering. Now if you’ve been marketing for any length of time you will have seen offers for PLR content where you can just add your name to the bottom of the page and suddenly be an expert in the niche. Sadly it’s not that easy, but if you spend a little bit of time with your PLR it can become a real strong lead magnet. Let’s take golf as our example. Go through the PLR and pull out all of the content relating to hitting the big drives, and then compile it into a “Top 10 Driving Tips That Will Have You Hitting The Fairway Every Time”. Suddenly we have turned the PLR into a unique strong lead magnet.

A Strong Squeeze Page

The best way to improve conversions is to make the page look professional and keep it simple. Search the freelance sites / warrior forum and get a designer to create an ecover for your lead magnet, a good ecover should cost you less than $20 and really make it look a thousand times more valuable than the collection of PLR it started out as. Finally the design of the squeeze page itself should be super simple. An attention grabbing headline, your ecover, 2-3 bullet points and your opt-in box. The whole design should fit into a 800 x 600 pixel table so that the visitor can’t scroll the page, and the only link on this page should be to your privacy policy.

Laser Targeted Traffic

Article marketing is a great way to generate visitors and give you expert status. Continuing the golf theme do you think that people who read your article on “How To Hit More Fairways” would be interested in your free ebook? Combine this with the squeezepage and you’ll be building your list at warpspeed…

So in conclusion I’ve shown you how to turn PLR into a desirable lead magnet, given you a template for your squeezepage, and a great way to find people who are interested in your niche.

One big mistake a lot of sites make is hiding their content from people who haven’t opted in to their list, and signed up for their site. The idea behind this tactic is to entice the customer to sign up by dangling that content in front of them. More often than not, this creates distrust rather than genuine interest. Hiding your content leaves the customer with the impression that you have something to hide. This tactic actually used to be reasonably effective, but it has been abused heavily over the years, and as such, it no longer has the desired effect of enticing the customer into signing up for your list.

Before signing up for your list, a customer browsing your site is a guest in your part of the internet; remember to treat them as such. It’s good to be excited and passionate about your products and services, but don’t overdo it. If one of your guests spends ten minutes browsing your site before signing up for your site, and your list, only to find that things aren’t what they seemed, they’re going to feel mislead, and they will begin to distrust you. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t talk yourself up at all, just remember to be reasonable about it. Don’t claim to have won awards you didn’t win, or that don’t exist. Don’t imply that you offer something you don’t. Basically, avoid lies of any sort, and you’ll convert those guests into subscribers.

It might sound a little strange, but try to think of your customers as new friends. If you build a new friendship on honesty and openness, you’ll keep that new friend for a long time. In this case, that new friend will sign up for your list, and hopefully even buy your products. Be clear about who you are and what you have to offer, and you will add quality subscribers to your list.

The first thing to remember is that not everyone is getting their e-mail addresses in a legitimate way. Some of the less honest companies are getting their addresses through dubious means, like breaking into people’s e-mail accounts, and downloading all their contacts, or by gaining access to someone else’s list. If you decide to buy leads, and those leads were acquired through dubious means, it’s a pretty safe bet that any mail you send to those leads will get flagged as spam.

Let’s just assume that the e-mail addresses were gathered in a legitimate, legal way. You still have to worry about the quality of the leads. Unless you offer a product or service that is universally needed or wanted, you are going to wind up with a lot of new leads that just don’t care about your niche. Chances are the e-mail addresses you’re buying came from a wide variety of sources, and contain a wide variety of consumers. They won’t necessarily be interested in your products or services.

If you’re reading this, then there’s a good chance you know how much effort goes into building up your brand. If you buy leads for your list, and wind up sending out e-mails to people that just don’t care about whatever you’re offering, you run the risk of damaging your brand. If your newly purchased subscribers get what they feel to be too many e-mails from you, they will come to think of your company as a spammer. Once that negative image is created in a person’s mind, it’s very hard to convince them they have the wrong idea about your company.

With the potential to get flagged as spam, the inability to target your audience, and the risk of damaging your brand, buying leads just isn’t worth the risks. It might work out for you if you have a truly ubiquitous product, but chances are you’re just going to make trouble for yourself by buying leads.

Building trust starts during the sign up process. You never want to misrepresent the contents of your list to the subscriber. Make sure that, during sign up, you describe very clearly exactly what the subscriber will get for signing up to your list. If you’re offering any sort of one time incentive for signing up, such as a coupon, or a free trial of a product or service, be sure to deliver that incentive as quickly as possible. The longer your new subscriber has to wait to receive that incentive, the more likely they are to begin developing a distrustful attitude toward you and your list. If you wait too long to deliver that incentive, you run the risk of having them unsubscribe.

It’s important to remember that a direct lie isn’t the only way to break the bond of trust between you and your subscribers. You can just as easily lose that trust by leaving out important details about a product, service, or promotion. For example, let’s say you run a clothing store that’s offering 10% off on all men’s pants. That sale excludes three brands, but your sale e-mail makes no mention of those exclusions. If the customer tries to buy a pair of pants produced by one of the companies that aren’t included in the sale, they will immediately feel lied to. Once that bond of trust is broken by a simple misunderstanding, it is extremely difficult to rebuild that trust. From that point on, the customer will view any promotions you offer with skepticism, if they choose to continue receiving your e-mails at all.

If you stay honest with your subscribers, and share any and all important details with them, you will gain, and keep their trust. As long as they trust you, they will stick with you.l By building trust with your subscribers, you are working to build a quality list that will yield quality sales over time. The best customer is a loyal customer, and an honest, up front list can go a long way toward bringing in loyal customers.
