How To Add An Opt-In Box To Your Blog
If you look over on the right hand side of this blog you will see that I have an opt-in box where I give away my free listbanditexpert report. Assuming that you have something you can give away this is a great way to get new subscribers onto your list.
To create the opt-in form you need to have an autoresponder service, I use a company called aweber, and they’re the gold standard used by the majority of internet marketers.
Using aweber I generate html code that generates the following code which when pasted into the desired widget shows up as a box – notice how I have set it up to redirect to a page of my choice and not the default page.
Notice that I didn’t use the headline feature within aweber as doing this will totally ruin the formatting of your blog. This is because your sidebar is only a few hundred pixels wide, and the code generated by aweber will expand the sidebar and the appearance of your blog.
Lastly you select a text widget and paste the code. Now when you create the headline and graphics they will be sized to keep within the width of your sidebar, giving you a shiny new opt-in box to be proud of.
