Simple List Building System

Joseph Simple List Building System

Joseph asks…

Which program do you prefer for prototyping an enterprise portal system and why (see list below.)?

Macromedia/Adobe…
3dx
MS Office Pro (Visio…)
VS.Net
other?

I would LIKE the prototype to function interactively AND serve as the foundation for future build-out, but those are not priorities. Priorities are speed (including execution and learning curve,) stand-alone product (writable to and launchable from CD-ROM,) and layered presentation (big picture with implementation benefits, down to user interface with interactive details.) Cost is not a factor: I already own versions of product lines listed above. Time is a factor: I bought these products at student prices (when I was a grad student) but now find the choices confusing and too time-consuming. I am most familiar with Visio: UML and VisualBasic therein. I do own Macromedia Flash MX and Dreamweaver MX, but not Director. I was on a team in the 1990s that prototyped a computer game using Director, so I have a sense there are simpler paths to realizing my presentation than Visio. Animation is important.

Thanks in advance

ListBuildingExpert answers:

Flash 8 is the way to go with-out a doubt (yea, you’ll need to upgrade). It is incredible how Macromedia/Adobe have expanded it’s capabilities. I personly like Director but I think it’s on it’s last days due to expanded capabilities of Flash (and yes, Director now is allot better than it was back in the 90s).

If you already own Flash MX, play around with it and get a good idea of if you are capable of creating what you want with it. (I know that it is from my own experiance . . . I’m a multimedia developer). You can create stand alone exicutables. As far as starting from a disk just create a text file with the following in it:

[autorun]
open=programName.EXE

and save it to the root of the disk with this name “Autorun.inf” make sure the exicutable is in the same root as well.

Visio does not sound like the right program for what you’ve mentioned as its strengths are diagrams. You need a developer platform. .net is a very capable and proabably the most powerful but the learning curve is huge in comparison to Flash. Go with Flash, it’ll be here today and way down the road.

Also look for Flash Developer forums, there are a ton for components and reusable code to snag.

Carol asks…

what are the best few exercises to build muscle fast?

list 3 or 4 exercises that you know build muscle fast

ListBuildingExpert answers:

Squats- Hamstrings
Tricep Extentions – Tricep
Bench press- Chest
Rows- Back

Any exercise you do its more about QUALITY not QUANITY!!! So when you do crunches or any of those exercises make sure you are squeezing your abs very hard to get the most out of your work out….

Do this with every work out you do especially Abs and Weightlifting!!

Sandy Build List Fast

Sandy asks…

How to build up abdominals and arm muscles fast?

I’m going on holiday in 8 weeks and I was just wondering if you could give me a few excersises to build up the muscle for abs and arms quickly. You don’t have to explain how to do them I’ll just youtube that but could you just give a list of excersise names. Thanks.

ListBuildingExpert answers:

Despite what ANYONE tells you, there is no way to build muscle fast! Anyone who promises such things are either trying to sell you something or are telling a lie.

Although 8 weeks isn’t long, i’m sure with an effective workout and VERY STRICT NUTRITION(Your gonna have to eat next to no junk food for that time, and up your protein intake and plenty of rest (your muscles grown when you rest), you could achieve some good results.

I advise you to do mostly compound exercises(multiple muscles being used in one exercise, for example, pull-ups, push ups, bench press and most body-wight exercises) if you haven’t worked out For more than a year. Compound exercises are the fastest and most effective way to build muscle at first.

Also, just lowering your body-fat percentage can make you look much more defined and “ripped” and will bring out your abs especially. In fact, you wouldn’t even need to train abs much if all your after is a six-pack, just lower your body fat to 8-11% range!(i do advise exercising your abs, they are important to keep strong an healthy!)

So just follow a good workout plan strictly for the next 8 weeks and you wil be impressed with the results, but you have to stick to it!

I’m going to leave a link. Its hands-down, the best source of FREE and EFFECTIVE body building information out there. I am not advertising, i’m just trying to help you icon biggrin Build List Fast

James List Building Software Reviews

James asks…

Help with a job question! They want to know what experience i have “working in a technological capacity”?

Here is the reply that I was sent after sending a resume to a job I am interested in. Its a computer tech job, fyi.

Thank you for sending me your resume. What experience do you have working
in a technological capacity? Please provide me with some examples of your
technological accomplishments.

After I review your response I will consider contacting you for an
interview.

Thank you

What exactly is this guy asking me? Is he basically asking what can I do with a computer, i.e. build them, set up networks, configure and install drivers/software, etc? Is this right? can you think of any other examples that I could list (im A+ certified but I have the worst time with these things). Anyway, is that what he means by it? Asking me what I can do? Thats how I interpreted “experience working in a technological capacity”, but one of my other friends acts like hes asking about previous tech employment but the guy can see ive never worked in tech before by looking at my resume.

Thanks!

ListBuildingExpert answers:

He can see you haven’t had any formal work in a tech capacity but he is hoping you have worked in a technological capacity before. Either on your own, for a friend, or in some capacity that isn’t on your resume. He just wants to know you can do the job. If you have never done this job before in any capacity he doesn’t want to waste his time with you. So tell him as many things as you can where you have worked at setting up networks, who for when and where. Where you built a computer, who for, when, and where. Any time in your life you used your A+ certificate or knowledge is what you want to send him. The more the better. If you can convince him you can do the job then he will invite you to a real interview. Don’t forget to include all your training, certificates, and accomplishments.

George asks…

Which laptop should I chose for college and some gaming, why?

First I want to say is that I should be getting a laptop soon by January 2009. I will have only $1,700 in the bank by the 3rd of January. I hopefully will be starting college by then. I would preferably like to spend less than $1,000 for the laptop itself. I will only buy HP because I have experience with them and I like what they have to offer. Also they are at least the top if not #2 rank in high reviews for computers. As for their customer service it is decent. I use computers manly to surf the internet, do research, edit photos, word processor documents, downloads off the internet, Quicken for my finances, I tend to pull up multiple applications and multi task while online, regular instant messaging (IM) and as far as games go all I play at the moment is Flight Simulator X (FSX) besides the occasional online games on the internet like pop it (pogo.com). I may be interested in playing Dead Space and Fear 2 and have read the reviews on them. I enjoy playing fighter pilot games, do you have any to suggest? Links for both laptops are listed at the end. As well as all the software I will be purchasing to put on it. Yes I did the reviews for antivirus, internet security and spyware software. Extended HP warranty as well as printer and laptop carrying case are listed also. All prices include shipping and tax. There is a $266 difference between the total prices.

The first laptop is an HP dv6885se (Special Edition)
It is originally $1,150 at Best Buy but now as of December 2, 2008 it is $976.23 this includes shipping and tax. It is not available in stores and is now marked as an Outlet item. So I am not sure how much longer it will be available for. This laptop was made in 2007. So is this laptop considered old or new when I buy it? I have seen it in person a couple months ago at Best Buy on display and I cannot get over how much it stands out compared to just a plain old laptop. The color and designs etched into it are just amazing. I have read all the reviews on it and only found one bad remark all other reviews were very positive.

How To Build A List Fast

Sandra How To Build A List Fast

Sandra asks…

How much would it cost to build my own computer?

Okay not planning on doing it anytime soon, but i love computers and want to learn how to build and repair them, and my parents think a good project for me is to build my own BASIC computer, basically just to surf the web. I would like someone who has a lot of experience in this to answer this question. So how much would it cost roughly to build a basic desktop computer, fairly fast, with about 1-2GB of RAM? (I do have limited knowledge in computers) I know next to nothing about video cards and most of the rest of the stuff haha but I really want to learn, so if somebody could possibly give me a rough estimate on how much it would cost and maybe even a COMPLETE list of supplies that I would need, along with a reliable website where I can purchase them? Email me at: benbojojo@yahoo.com if you want to give me more information, thanks.

ListBuildingExpert answers:

Newegg.com is a great website to buy computer parts or whole computers they will have everything that you need.

Depending on how much you want to spend, building a computer can cost anywhere from about $300 to thousands of dollars. For a good, moderately fast desktop you should probably set aside at least $500. The more the better. Keep in mind that you should check the compatibility of everything to make sure that they will work well together. You should also check reviews to make sure that you are getting good items.

Major components that you need to buy:
RAM
Processor
MotherBoard
Hard Drive
Case
Power Supply
CD (optical) drives
Graphics Card (if there isn’t one built into the motherboard)
Operating System (Windows XP, Ubuntu, Windows 7, etc..)

Some things that you may also need to get:
Cables to connect components (these generally come with the drives)
Heat Sink for Processor (Almost always comes with one)
Thermal compound (usually provided but you will need it if you buy a used heat sink)

Send me an email from my profile if you need any help figuring out if things are compatible or with anything else.

Best Archfiend Deck

Nancy Best Archfiend Deck

Nancy asks…

What Are The Best Types Of Yugioh Decks Right Now?

are d.d. decks and archfiend decks any good?

ListBuildingExpert answers:

Ok, D.D. Decks are good but it can’t exceed its potential unless you somehow change it to Macro Monarch but it wouldnt be such an excellent deck like the current top deck- Tele-DaD D.D. Decks would never win tourneys unless They come up with some killer D.D. Card. D.D. Decks are fun to play but it gets boring after a while although it still owns people. Archfiend Decks are not really good and there are very uncommonly used. Currently, it doesn’t have much support cards and there is no trump archfiend card. So, Yeah, its not pretty good.

Best Decks-

1. Tele-DaD
2. Lightsworn
3. Gladiator Beasts
4. Zombies
5. Crystal Bests

These decks are expensive to make and that is a reason why there are the best now. Tele-DaD is self-explaination. Lightsworn’s Trump is Judgement Dragon but its equally dangerous as it would mill its own deck til you have 0 cards left in your deck but well-built Lightsworn Decks wouldnt have this problem. Gladiator Beasts have may styles of playing and its good. Zombies are good and with newer zombie carss like IL Blud and zombie world and other cards that come in Structure Deck: Zombie World. Its 4th cos’ it has many weakness like royal oppression, Removed from Play. Crystal beasts are good because in their deck, you could use cards that require countinious spells to play it good and crystal beast does it. It holds many ways of plaing but mostly is just Using Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder or Rainbow Dragon.

Hope i helped! =D

ListBuildingExpert answers:

Don’t put “Ruby Tuesday’s 2001 – 2005. That’s way too vague.
Put June 2001 – Sept 2005, 20 hours per week, or full-time

As for your skills, some of what you have listed are not skills, but attributes. “Advanced computer skills” is better than computer-literate.
Exceptional listener…good line.
Flexible in all environments? Are you a yoga master, too? Lose that phrase and start with effectively prioritize.
Start the next line with Ability to build rapport. Scrap all that comes before it.
Scrap the whole next line about spirited and knowledge hungry. Save it for the cover letter and just put “quick learner.”
Scrap the reliable with creditable yada yada line.
High degree of meticulousness sounds obsessive-compulsive. Skip it and save it for the interview.

I’d leave out the “proactively offered suggestions for improvement in management meetings” because frankly, no one likes this guy, and I rolled my eyes just reading it. Skip the telephone reception abilities phrase and add to your skills list that you can use a multi-line phone. Scrap the whole firm believer in work ethic line and save it for the interview.

I have tried manually looking on find new hardware and found ‘audio device on high definition audio bus’ with the yellow exclamation mark beside it but it can’t find any software for it. When I go to ajust system volume it says the deivce is ‘ wsaudiodevice_383′. Anyway, I went into dxdiag and got this long list if it helps. But my god, I have been trying to figure this out for ages. If anybody can help it would be so unbelievably appreciated!

Build Listening Room

Sharon Build Listening Room

Sharon asks…

Looking to “build” a room with amazing speakers to listen to music.?

Hello, I’m looking to build a room in my house to listen to music and possible movies, so you can think of it as a theatre room. Its kinda a childhood dream ( i know lame) but I wanna go all out. Im looking for the best possible sound equipment i can get. Doesn’t it to be abnormally loud but i want pure crisp sound.

Feel free to ask for more details, thanks for taking the time to read
Do you have a budget range?
Well, not really but im not looking to spend a fortune, maybe 5,000$ for sound equipment?
Will you listen to movies more than music?
Most probably going to be half half.
What kind of music do you like?
Alot of various types, i couldnt name only one.
How big is the room?
I have a few rooms i can work with, i think it would be a room in the basement with no windows though.
Does this dream include installing speakers in the wall or stand alone?
Installed on the walls unless it causes a big negative impact on the sound quality.
Do you already have existing equipment or it will all be new?
all new icon smile Build Listening Room
Will the floor have carpet, long draperies and sheers, windows?
it all depends on the impact on sound quality
I have some really good ideas that will at least prove to be interesting if you can help me a little here.
sounds amazing, thanks so much for the help icon smile Build Listening Room

not sure yet on the ps

You have already been given a lot of good advice…

A money saving tip, you can build your own screen if you are handy with wood working. Http://store.cousinsvideo.com/cut-to-size.html You can buy bulk screen material and build your own frame. That’s what I did… Http://www.mfk-projects.com/theatre_screen.htm The screen material you choose will be based on your needs for gain and off axis viewing angle. I used a 1.3 gain material. Use this calculator to determine your needs on gain based on your projector and lighting position. Http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm This will save a few bucks to spend on other equipment.

As for speakers, regardless of what some professional AV people think, there are DIY’ers out there that can build custom speakers that will blow away any commercial product available. This is because they do not face the same restraints a manufacturer faces in designing a product that can be more broadly marketed. The average DIY’er can’t do this, but there are those that can. Some of the best speaker designers in the world simply choose not to make it their profession. Unfortunately this choice typically extends to not being available as a consultant to design and implement a system so if you want this level of quality you will have to research it and do it yourself. I do know one guy in CA that has worked as a consultant to custom design systems but these were all six figure custom speaker systems. If you are forced to stay within the limitations of the commercial world then you are just going to have to visit a lot of stores and do a lot of listening to determine what sounds good to you.

Electronics is pretty easy. There isn’t nearly as dramatic a difference in say a Denon vs an Onkyo receiver as compared with the difference between speakers. Get something with the features you want.

Susan Build Listening Room

Susan asks…

How much RMS watts of a home theatre is enough for a 18 x 14 Room?

I am looking for a home theatre for my room (Specially for listening to music). Please tell how many RMS are enough for this sized room. Also I am looking forward to Sony Home theatre. How does that delivers.
Secondly if I have a DVD player with a build-in amp. can I attach an additional amplifier to it for a better sound quality?
The budget is around 15K.

ListBuildingExpert answers:

What you’re asking is like asking what color cup would hold 8 ozs….
When purchasing an audio system, first determine your budget. Then devote between 75 – 90 percent of that to the speakers. The rest to the source.
And no you can not attach an amp to an amp.
